The Association pour l’Histoire de l’Administration des Douanes françaises (Society for the history of the administration of French customs) is open to anyone interested in the history of customs. The society’s aim is :
to record the history of customs,
to collect and preserve historical evidence (historical documents, uniforms, weapons, postcards, various objects...),
enabling a better knowledge of the history of customs by :
editing and spreading magazines and historical objects : magazines « Cahiers d’Histoire », medals, figurines, postcards, stamp-collecting etc...
promoting artistic and cultural events and the participation of collectors
The AHAD also takes care of the cultural activity of the Musée national des douanes in Bordeaux.
Becoming a member allows a private individual to receive the society’s magazine « Cahiers d’Histoire » free of charge, in addition to information bulletins, being kept informed of the on-going events and enjoying free entry to the museum.
The AHAD owns a shop. To order products from the shop you just have to print the order form bellow and send it with your payment, to the society. It offers a number of published works, supported or chosen and acquired by the society, in addition to 38 « Cahiers d’Histoire des douanes » published since its foundation by the editorial staff. A selection of these books are available at the museum shop.
